MnDOT orders Sept. 29 safety stand-down after deaths
MnDOT mandated a safety stand-down of all work on Monday, Sept. 29, after two contractors were killed in Twin Cities construction zones—on Sept. 24 on southbound I-35W near Hwy 13 in Burnsville and on Sept. 26 at Hwy 610 and Maple Grove Parkway in Maple Grove. The agency said it is working with contractors, the Minnesota State Patrol and Minnesota OSHA to investigate and review practices to maximize worker and public safety.
